FAQ
WHAT IS THE LENGTH OF STAY?
Spring Creek is a performance based school. When a student has completed the criteria for each of the 6 phases offered and is demonstrating a changed behavior; a recommendation is made to return home. Average stay is 12-18 months.
WILL INSURANCE COVER THIS?
That depends on your insurance company and your personal benefit package. Usually, no, since we are not licensed as a residential treatment center. Yet, it never hurts to ask. Call and ask what your benefits package will cover.
IS THE COST OF THE PROGRAM CONSIDERED A TAX DEDUCTION?
There are many parents who have said they have been able to do this. Check with your accountant!
HOW DO WE GET THEM THERE IF THEY ARE UNWILLING AND RESIST?
We can recommend several transportation services where a trained team will come to your home and pick up your teen. We encourage parents to bring their child if possible, tour the facility, and meet the staff.
WHAT IF MY STUDENT IS 18 OR OLDER?
For girls we recommend Canyon View Park and for boys we recommend Camas Ranch.
DO YOU HAVE RULES AS TO DRESS CODE, ETC?
Yes. Our program begins by disengaging youth from street behavior/attitudes and habits. Hair, dress, music, TV. Etc. is monitored.
CAN WE VISIT OUR CHILD OR TALK WITH THEM WHILE THEY ARE AT SPRING CREEK?
Yes, once they've reached the appropriate status. Phone calls begin at Advanced status and visits at Service status.
ARE CREDITS TRANSFERABLE?
Yes! Spring Creek School is accredited through Northwest Association of Accredited Schools. Credits are transferable anywhere.
WHAT IS THE PARENTS INVOLVEMENT?
100% Involvement. Parents begin by writing a "Commitment Letter". This is a statement to your teen that he or she is at Spring Creek until the completion of all phases and is recommended home. Letters, support of Spring Creek, participation in the seminars and weekly calls are all part of the parent's involvement in the family healing process.
HOW DO I KNOW I AM MAKING THE RIGHT DECISION?
Ask other parents who have made the same decision. An objective viewpoint is best when you are too close to the situation. Call as many parents as possible and talk to graduates of the program. They are your best reference source.
WHAT IS THE TYPICAL STUDENT?
There are no typical students, rather each may be here for unique but necessary reasons. See the questionaire to find out if your child may qualify.
